This is not a comprehensive book on Java. This book is really good for new programmers to learn programming / the basics of Java.
It makes a great book for high-schoolers wanting to learn Java, or for parents and teachers to use to teach beginner Java.
The book is very clear, has a great layout and is easy to follow.

I am a beginner. I'm not sensitized enough to the reserved words to appreciate, automatically, which part of a label is the label and which is the function. I need the color-coded text. I don't expect the book to explain Lamda Functions. I just want to get my foot in the door and this book seems to be doing that for me. Once I get a feel for programming in Java - then, and only then, will I want to work on the more complicated stuff. For now, this book will do.
