About the Author
Allan J. Lichtman is Distinguished Professor of History at American University in Washington, DC, and formerly Associate Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences and Chair of the Department of History. He is the author or co-author of eight books, including most recently, FDR and the Jews (with Richard Breitman), which won the National Jewish Book Award in American Jewish History, and was a New York Times Editor’s Choice pick and a finalist for the Los Angeles Times Book Prize in History. He has also been a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award. He lives in Maryland.

Very informative and factual. Well written.

The political history of impeachment in the US offers an insightful warning about abuse of power of today and how curtailment of it was built into US Law. Must read for both those who want impeachment and those who don't want to believe corruption of power is fatal to this country. Wide selection of references for research to make sure of facts.

Informative and interesting.

This is the most informative and truthful book I have read about any political figure. Allan Lichtman tells it like it is without pandering to any image that the privileged one may want us to believe. I also love the steps to get rid of said politicians if they fail in their duties. Presidents should never forget they are after all 'hired help' and as such should be subject to removal like we would be if we fail to do our jobs. Allan Lichtman gives us hope for that.

Lichtman's "The Case for Impeachment" has more punch than you would expect from a historically based book. He is able to sink deep into the history of American impeachment and the presidencies of Andrew Johnson and Richard Nixon while adding a certain degree of levity in Trump's salacious past and his flouting of the law. It is a quick read that might have you thinking the number 46 by the end of it.
