May be Adequate for Cert Exam; Poorly Edited

I bought this book to get a quick start towards SQL 2016 certs. I have a pile of SQL Server certifications going back to SQL 2000/2005/2008 and 2012. Thus far, in the first 100 pages, I've found a number of simple non-technical editing errors (missing punctuation, duplicate words, etc.) that any competent editor should have noticed, including an old bugaboo of mine, the difference between "criteria" (a plural) and "criterion" (singular). More important, I've noticed at least three important technical omissions or misstatements (re computed columns and unique indexes).
I started to type the names of the book's proofreader, copy editor and technical editor, but decided to give them a break. Hopefully, they have other marketable skills. This book is not nearly as good as some earlier exam prep texts from Microsoft Press.
I'll update this review when I get further into the book. While it may be a useful primer for this cert exam, I'll pitch it after passing the exam. I would *not* recommend it as a learning tool for beginners! Far better to purchase any of Itzik Ben-Gan's books, which are excellent both in their exposition, editing and technical content.
My own background is over 20 years developing with SQL Server, 10 years as a cert exam instructor, and a number of SQL Server certs.

Passed exam on first try with this book.

Passed the 70-762 exam this week using this book. NOTE: I thoroughly studied all the linked references. I used the online version of the book so I could easily check out the links to the MSDN articles and other references. This book is not an introduction to anything. I have been developing SQL databases for a long time. You need to already understand things like foreign key intricacies, performance implications of clustered vs. non-clustered indexes, deadlocks, visibility and permissions of views etc.

For comparison best (! do not afraid direct comparison

Do my preparation for SQL 2016 certification. Have almost all certifications (except MCM) since 2008.
Finished reading first chapter. It's frustration. Author tries to put all in one chapter and swimming between normalization (poor explanation) and snowflake design (better even no include it at all) and indexing strategy. It's incredible tough to understand for beginners what's going in DB development world !
Book has many references to external sources. And it's only 380 pages !
For comparison best (! do not afraid direct comparison! ) book so far is 70-461 (Itzik Ben-Gan) has 750 pages and brilliant explanation of material.
Even 70-433 has 500 pages. Seems the more features we have the less pages required...
I personally have filling that buying training kit 70-461 + taking external references from 70-761 is the best way for preparation.
Also one things which inconvenient. Book shipped without e-file (pdf or etc). They started selling it separately.
