Basic resource - not organized well for concurrent use w/ a pharm course

Each case study starts by giving you vocab words to look up and define. Then, it presents the story (where the vocab words give "clues" as to the patient's issue. Then, you are given the medications that the patient is taking. By looking up those medications, you learn how they may (or may not) have contributed to the current situation the patient is in. After each case study is the author's interpretation of what happened including the relationships to the medications presented.
While the explanations can be helpful, they are long...
My other complaint regarding this resources is that the case studies are not separated by body system or disease process. Most pharmacology classes are structured into sections like: cardiovascular, dermatology, neurology, etc. It would be helpful if this book was formatted similarly to be used as a supplement to course lectures. Instead, you start reading "Case Study 26" and find out it is about antibiotics when you haven't studied them in class yet.

Buyer Beware

GOSH! I wish I had given more credence to the previous reviews!! Well, this is not useful at all for an introductory Pharm course. First, the table of contents is Case study 1 Case Study 2 etc, even though, when you page through, each has some focus in terms of drugs or dx. I GET that life isn't black and white, and that patients have multiple issues and diagnoses and interactions... I really couldn't use this until students had learned the drugs in most of the course. This should be marketed to NP students who are prescribing, but it would need to be leveled up. Better yet to a RN to BSN Pharm review course.
NOT user friendly; is poorly organized. Any case study that makes you hunt for the case study (seriously!!) needs a redo.
that said, there is a place for it in undergrad teaching; I will use it for a terminal complex nursing course that I teach. Really the book is less about teaching about drugs, and more about integrating Pharm info into a whole patient picture.
so, I will use it a little with my other courses and if it proves useful, I will update the review : )

few details no index to search for

the case study itself works best if you have titles on specific cases that you dont need to read and browse every pages when your looking for a specific disease or condition. it needs to highlights what the case subject in order for one to learn its own presentation. rather is a mess of different conditions in every cases, disorganized should i say.
